Recently, I embarked on migrating an SVN repository to Git.

In this blog post, which I shall edit with time, I'll note what I found as important to know (and is otherwise unsaid) about the migration process.

Case Sensitivity

The biggest most ruthless killer. Causing countless hangs that you won't be able to make sense of.

Make sure you use git svn on a case sensitive file system. Windows NTFS will cause issues.

You'll be happy once you use a case sensitive file system, very very happy.
